QUICK HITS: Three with Colorado

Colorado Contests: The Steelheads continue their home stand on Wednesday night when the Colorado Eagles make their first visit to Boise this season. The Steelheads have points in five consecutive games (4-0-1), while the Eagles have won back-to-back games. The Steelheads are 2-2-1 against the Eagles this season, and 33-17-8 all-time against Colorado.

High-Valued Merch: Will Merchant carries a four-game points streak into Idaho’s series with the Eagles, scoring three goals and adding five assists in that span. Merchant notched to goals on Saturday night against the Aces, his second two-goal game this season.

Lookin’ at Looch: Anthony Luciani has goals in three-straight games, tied for the longest goal-scoring streak by a Steelhead this season. He also has points in five straight games, six points in that span. Luciani has not gone more than one game without a point since December 7th, and his 31 points are tied for second on the team.

Meet McMurtry: Mike McMurtry joined the Steelheads on Tuesday after being reassigned to Idaho by AHL Texas. The rookie forward from Northeastern University has scored five goals and recorded ten points in 26 games with the Stars. McMurtry scored 20 goals and 80 points in four seasons of college hockey.

Another Divisional Dance: The Steelheads grabbed five of six points against the Aces last week to hop into third place. This week’s series offers another chance for the Steelheads to climb the standings. Idaho trails the Eagles by two points, as well as the first-place Allen Americans. The Steelheads hope to expand on a solid home record to help their push. The Steelheads are 13-4-2 at CenturyLink Arena, their 28 points at home the third-most in the ECHL.
