Steelheads release 2017 training camp roster

Boise, ID (10/2/17) – The Idaho Steelheads have announced their roster for this season’s training camp, beginning with practice today at 11am at CenturyLink Arena.

The Steelheads’ camp roster lists 21 players – 12 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders. The roster is subject to change throughout camp.

Defenseman Eric Sweetman was assigned to Idaho from the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars on Sunday. Five players under ECHL contract with Idaho- Aaron Harstad, Jefferson Dahl, Tommy Thompson, Cody Corbett, and Mitch Moroz- were released from professional tryout agreements with AHL Texas and returned to the Steelheads. All six will be present for the start of training camp.

Forward Steve McParland was released from his professional tryout with AHL Toronto and is expected to join the Steelheads in the coming days.

Forward Christian Horn and defenseman Riley Sweeney are attending camp with the Steelheads on tryout agreements.

All practice sessions during camp are open to the public, with the exception of the morning skate on October 7th.  Fans are also welcome to attend a split-squad scrimmage from 5-6:30pm on Wednesday night at CenturyLink Arena. Fans may enter via the front lobby of CenturyLink Arena, with doors opening 15 minutes prior to practice

Tickets to the Steelheads’ October 7th preseason game at CenturyLink Arena are limited to Steelheads season-ticket holders. Seats are available for the Steelheads’ home opener on Friday, October 13th against the Norfolk Admirals.
