Steelheads to Wear Blue and Orange to Help Kids at SLIERS
Monday, December 10, 2007

The Idaho Steelheads announced today the team will hold a jersey auction to benefit pediatric programs at St. Luke’s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services during this week’s three-game series against the Phoenix RoadRunners in partnership with SLIERS and Boise State University.

The jerseys are Boise State University blue and orange in color, adorned with the Steelheads logo front and center also in blue and orange, and the BSU Broncos logo on each shoulder. The St. Luke’s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services logo is on the back of the jersey.

The Steelheads will wear the jerseys beginning Wednesday night. Bids, beginning at $200, will be accepted on players’ jerseys at silent auction tables set up on the concourse. A jersey may be bought outright for $2,000. The auction will close as the puck drops on the third period, Saturday night. Winning bidders will be presented the jersey off the players’ back immediately following Saturday’s game.

St. Luke’s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services is a not-for-profit 501-c3 organization that is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the community. The SLIERS pediatric program encompasses a wide range of service needs, and are provided regardless of the ability to pay. Whether the service is traditional physical, occupational or speech therapy, medical outreach for youth programs, or a camp for children with special needs, SLIERS provides the same exceptional care to everyone.

“With the generous support of our community partners such as the Idaho Steelheads, Boise State Broncos and their fans, we will be able to continue to provide care to those most in need,” said Jean Mutchie, Director of Marketing for SLIERS. “We thank everyone for their support.”

This is the second auction the Idaho Steelheads have done in partnership with St. Luke’s*Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Services. $11,740 was raised through a jersey auction benefiting autistic programs at SLIERS during a three-game series against the Alaska Aces last March.
