Scoran Returns to Idaho for Another Season
Thursday, July 31, 2008

The Idaho Steelheads Hockey Club announced today it will bring back defenseman Kory Scoran [SCORE-in] for a third season. Terms of the one-year ECHL agreement were not disclosed per Club policy.

Scoran, who turns 27 on Aug. 24, was a member of the Steelheads 2007 Kelly Cup Championship team. He scored the game-winning goal in double overtime, his first playoff GWG, and had an assist in a 2-1 win at Dayton in Game Four of the Kelly Cup Finals.

“The Steelheads organization and fans treat you great,” said Scoran. “This team has a winning tradition and it’s my goal to help keep it going and bring back another championship.”

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound blueliner, who hails from Winnipeg, MB played four collegiate seasons with Lake Superior State before beginning his professional career with Idaho.

Highlights of Scoran’s first pro season in 2006-07 were attending Iowa Stars training camp and being named as the Steelheads’ Most Improved Player as voted on by his teammates. He recorded a career-high five goals and 23 points in 2007-08.

A variety of Season Ticket Plans for the 2008-09 season, with reduced pricing in some sections, are now available by calling (208) 383.0080 or visiting the team’s website at www.idahosteelheads.com.
